Are you an acrophobic? I am, but there is a line from the 1984 hit song, 'I Want To Know What Love Is' by Foreigner, a British-American rock band, "Now this mountain I must climb" This song propelled me to climb a few mountains and hills. The beauty of the Northwest entices me to climb more mountains.
Mount Shuksan is perhaps one of the most photographed mountains in the world for its pristine beauty and easy accessibility and parking at Artists' Point. Shuksan is considered to be a glaciated massif ~ meaning a snow-covered massive piece of rock year-round. We took this photo on late August, 2013 located in the North Cascades National Park east of Mount Baker ( see video ) and is approximately 11.6 miles (18.7 km) south of the Canadian border.
The name Shuksan is derived from the Lummi word [šéqsən], meaning "high peak" and is Washington's 60th steepest peak to climb. The highest point on the mountain is a three sided peak known as Summit Pyramid. Shuksan is Washington's 13th highest peaks with 4,411 feet of prominence. Source-Wikipedia
Life is like a mountain: You climb it, you stumble over it, yet you learn to carry on. As you climb you become physically able to climb higher and higher. Like the mountain trails, there are challenging trails in life. There are no secret passages. But you have two things to help you push on: Hope and Life. Hope that you'll see the beautiful view when you reach the summit. Life to live. Life to enjoy. So believe that you can make the climb. The fatigue of life may worn you down but you persevere until you reach the summit of success.
